The Park
This place is strange.
There are nearly 80,000 people in this town,
but you'd almost never know it looking at this park.
I don't know why people don't come here, it's a nice little park.
There are trails and trees and hidden places for kids to discover.
It's okay, we'll just take advantage
of the solitude while we can.
Until others discover this place,
we can pretend it's our own backyard!

the usual suspect
I'd only looked away for a moment, I swear.
After all, it happened in the same room in which I was sitting.
I heard the clamoring in the corner of my ear.
But, because something on the computer had me so deeply engrossed, I neglected to check out the cause of the ruckus...until...
it was too late!
The Suspects:
Hmmm...I dunno...

Why Didn't I Think of That?

Seaside
These newer homes are, what may be my favorite style, Cape Cod.
The fun thing about this neighborhood, besides the utter cuteness, is its name, Seaside Village.
Okay, this is nowhere near the ocean. The closest body of water is the little pond in the picture.
North Texas theme neighborhoods. An adventure around every turn.

Bear Cub
Today, I had the pleasure of wrestling with a little bear.
Please, take caution when attempting to diaper a bear cub. The strength of such an adorable bundle can take you off guard, and leave you with tired muscles and a big mess!!
I could not have imagined the same little one who seemed so fragile in the NICU, those long three months, would emerge from his protective cocoon so full of energy and strength.
Truly, amazing...
And now, little more than a year later...
I'm incredibly thankful for the wrestling match!

Happy New Year
It all started Sunday afternoon, when we went for drinks.
Several hours later, and without much thought at all, we ended up in Houston. ;o)
New Year's Eve was spent at the beach in Galveston.
What an interesting place, Galveston. I'd never visited the island before, yet it seemed so familiar.
Very refreshing.
Things seem much clearer now.
