odd dream

Some nights, on the rare occasion I find a bit of sleep, I dream strange things.

Last night was one such occasion.

I'd gone to bed much too early, before midnight. With so much time to dream, there was bound to be something of interest I'd not forget upon my waking.

There were strangers in my dream. One was sorting through his expensive camping gear in my mother's living room. I shook his hand as though I was just meeting him for the first time and pretended I'd heard his name once before.

I'm sure I'd seen something on television about thrill-seekers and outdoorsy types to provoke such thoughts.

Though one vision was just plain odd.

In my room, in a house I was unfamiliar with, there stood a metal frame that held a large delicate paper sheet. The paper was cut maze-like, as in the image shown above. It bellowed in a breeze that was non-existent.

Someone had told me it was bad qi to have this thing in my room, though I'd no idea why. I refused to get rid of it, saying that it was a fine piece of art, cut so delicately.

Perhaps, it was a passageway of sorts...hmm...

In any case, I found myself yelling repeatedly at this bellowing, breathing sheet, "Go back to where you came from!"

Creepy, to be sure.

I've no idea what provoked these images, yet it has me curious.

It is the time of year again, when the deja-vu is most active. The dreams most vivid. I suppose it is the spring weather causing such things.

Even still... it was an odd dream.

We happened upon an interesting spot whilst traipsing through a wooded area.

Clearly, there was a purpose for this spot. Thus, upon our centering on it, we immediately assumed meditative positions. It seemed the thing to do, as this place was surely meant to help one focus.

How unexpected it was, to stumble upon such an interesting and lovely find. We enjoyed it curiously, until the light began to fade. It was not but then did we notice the sign...

To be sure, we will meet this spot again.

Whilst viewing YouTube vids about the recent UK disclosure of UFO files (I do enjoy a good UFO story!), I stumbled across a book titled, E.T. 101--The Cosmic Instruction Manual! ,the apparent collaborative effort of Zoev Jho and Mission Control.

This posting is mainly for my husband, since I'd mentioned it to him, but couldn't express the book's finer points. He'll just have to find the humor in it himself.

It is also for anyone else who might enjoy a bit of weirdness with their coffee.

lingering spirit

The topic of the spirit-world comes up from time to time at our house.  It's a touchy subject, to be sure.  One reason might have something to do with my husband's rather terrifying past experience with spirits.  

Needless to say, the subject doesn't get brought up all that often.  One would hate to perturb those on the other side by talking about them in any ill fashion.  

But today, my eldest kiddo, who has a fascination with the paranormal, was watching an episode of Paranormal State.  After the show, the disturbed presence was asked to leave the house he'd been haunting, and a priest was brought in to pray and to, in a sense, cleanse the house.

So it got me thinking.  Many spiritual persons, be they Christian, Buddhist, or Native American medicine people, etcetera, practice similar cleansing rituals.  Similar in that they do practice them, though the details may differ somewhat.  Which "religion" is the most effective in helping one to crossover, as it were?

According to my husband, the event he witnessed required priests of a few different religions to get rid of a particularly nasty being.  So could it be that no one religion is the right one?  Perhaps, there is more than one way.

In any case, now I'm worried.  We all are going to die at some point, no doubt.  How best to avoid getting stuck someplace undesirable?  Is simply being a decent person good enough?

neo-pagan?

According to the following quiz, apparently, I am most like a Neo-Paganist with the Reform Judaist following a close second.



Interesting, I guess. But really, can a short quiz sum up a person accurately?

Normally, I wouldn't take such a quiz. 
Recently, though, my eldest daughter and I have been having conversations about religion and about where we go when we die. Our conclusion, we are unable to put a label on what we think is true. Much of it we just don't know for certain.

We think there is a power bigger than all of us. Something impossible to comprehend. Much like an ant, or even a smaller organism, would have difficulty comprehending the complexity of a human.                            

We think there is an energy in all living things. Call it a soul, I suppose. And that the energy goes somewhere else when a living thing dies, but the energy doesn't simply disappear. Sometimes, this energy sticks around us. Many times, we've actually felt "negativity" in certain places. At times, a place might feel "light" and happy.

To us, it seems, when someone does a bad thing, there is imbalance, a negativity causing bad things to happen to that person and to those around them. This imbalance can be corrected in certain ways. Prayer seems to help. Since we think nothing is impossible, we do believe in miracles.

I don't know if that is Neo-Paganism. It seems many religions speak about similar things. Perhaps,it is simply a mix of ideas from several religions.
